    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turds

    Here’s a cartoon strip I drew back in 1990, featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja “Turds”. Sadly it is a very bad photocopy of the original and I’ve had to do a little restoration work on it to make it readable again. It starred the following characters: Terry the turd Trudie the turd Rolphie (as in Rolf Harris) the original turtles were named after artists. Little did I know at the time about Mr Harris… They travel around in the “pat” mobile and jump down the “poop” chute. Chock full of very poor, poo related gags.     My first published cartoon

    I’ve been digging around in my loft today and I came across the first cartoon I ever had professionally published. Back in October 1993 this was published in “The Cartoonist”. I was so pleased I framed the page, and here it is in all its dusty glory in the bottom left.

    Verbaliser (the webcomic)

    Time for some more cartoon archaeology. Verbaliser is a cartoon strip I drew back in 2005. I recently rediscovered my old sketchbooks in the loft. I drew this on my commute to work and busily coloured it in during the evenings. I finally ran out of steam and never got around to colouring the final strip 28 I had drawn, publishing it in black and white. Eagle eyed readers at the time may have noticed strip 25 was missing.     Bye bye telecoda-tees

    Last year I created a website for selling my drawings on t-shirts called “telecoda-tees.com”. I had limited success at best selling a handful of shirts and some stickers. You can see the old site below. telecoda-tees.com It was called “telecoda-tees” after my twitter alter ego @telecoda and the fact it sold t-shirts. I saved a bundle on brand advice. Via my business and marketing genius, I had successfully discovered a niche within a niche.
